The NIHS teams took to the courts and fields again in week 2, with many of them braving the cold, wet Wintery conditions outdoors on Saturday morning. Week 2's 'Blue Round' served as a special reminder to look after one another, with student's wearing blue in raising awareness for mental health.

Badminton The badminton teams continued their excellent season, with the B1 senior team (2) and middle A/B teams both winning convincingly. The senior B1 (1) came out on top in a nail-biting fixture that was ultimately decided on points as both teams won 3 matches respectively. Netball The netball teams showed tremendous courage to brave the frosty morning dew. The 7C team coached by Matilda, scored an emphatic 25-7 win against Mercedes College whilst the 7B and Senior C teams both lost in close encounters.

Basketball The Senior A basketball team had a successful weekend, ending up convincing winners against Pedare Christian College. Special mention must go to year 12 student, Fillipo (pictured left) who won the medal for best team man on the day whilst Seb (Year 12) continued his excellent form this season. The Senior B team experienced mixed emotions with a thrilling 28-28 draw, whilst the Senior C team struggled to match a strong opponent in Gleeson College. Despite a late charging comeback, the Middle C team fell just short of a clutch win, ultimately going down to Pedare 16-20. The Middle A's (37-44) and B's (15-68) both battled hard but were unable to match the strengths of their opponents.

Soccer The middle B team, comprised of year 7 boys only continued their terrific season, playing through the tough conditions to defeat Woodcroft College 4-2. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the undermanned Middle A team, who faced their toughest challenge yet in a well-oiled Mercedes College side, going down 7-1. Special mention must go to Dante (Year 7), who played tremendously well fronting up in back-to-back games for both the middle teams. With two rounds to go in the Winter season, the basketball and netball teams will now enter the playoff/final rounds. We wish them all the best over the next two weeks.
