Pedal Prix - Mount Gambier
On Saturday 1 April, NIHS Pedal Prix team XP8 participated in the first round of the Australian HPV Super Series in Mount Gambier. Our team consisted of, Thomas (Yr 11), Rayhan (Yr 11), Ricardo (Yr 11), Tomoyuki (Yr 11), Alexander (yr 12) and Thomas (yr 8).
The Mt Gambier event is an 8-hour race which take place at McNamara Park Motorcycle Circuit. While it was lots of fun it wasn't easy. In the last 15 minutes of the race we suffered a flat tire which lost us quite a few laps. But with our strength and determination we kept pushing ourselves to our limits, and ultimately, we managed to secure a second-place finish in the S3 category! Which was a massive victory for us.
We would like to thank parent helpers; David Watts, Matt Brinkly and Victoria Yurkova who made it possible to race.
Overall, it was lots of fun and a great way to start the season off with some extra points. We're looking forward to the next round of the UniSA Australian HPV Super Series at The Bend Motorsport Park in May and can’t want to show off our skills once again. We will welcome the full NIHS Pedal Prix program with 6+ teams travelling to The Bend to take part.
