Sport Selections
Congratulations to the below mentioned students for being selected for the following:
Matilda

Angelica
Representing Norwood International High School in the Schoolgirl’s and Under 17 Women’s Single Scull events at the Australian Rowing Championships held in Nagambie Victoria 28 March – 03 April.
"Although I went alone this year to represent Norwood International in the Under 17 Women's Single Scull (U17W1x) and Schoolgirl's Single Scull (SG1x) at Nagambie, Victoria, Nationals was a fantastic experience. The experience I gained from competing with interstate girls was very enjoyable and a very competitive ground, which makes me want to starve to train harder for next year and for years to come. A few new friends were made from being there, which I hope to compete against next year in Under 19 Women's Single Scull, Schoolgirl's Singles, and a few other events, or just to see around the course at Champion Lake in Perth, Western Australia. Overall, I've grown even more in love with the sport and alongside the community is such a wonderful group of people to be around. This opportunity would not have been possible for me without the support of the school, my coaches, family, and friends."
Oscar

Connor
South Australian Boys team playing in the Australian Under 12 Hockey Championships held in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, 21-26 August
“The team finished 6th and although undermanned they competed admirably against the eventual Grand Finalists. Connor was reliable player who contributed to the steady improvement of the teams performance over the course of the week. Connor participated in many educational experiences such as visiting Questacon, The War Memorial, New and Old Parliament House and The Mint. This was a highly valuable experience and Connor has made many precious friendships due to his selection and participation.”
Summer

"The UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships was such an exciting opportunity for me to experience racing at an international level and to further develop my tactics and skills against the best juniors in the world."
Prior to this, Summer also won Silver in the Under 19 Individual Pursuit and Silver in the Team Pursuit at the 2022 AusCycling Track National Championships and Bronze in the Under 19 Women Individual Pursuit in the Oceania Track Championships.
Amelia
South Australian team playing at the School Sport Australian 18 Years and Under Girls Soccer Championships held in Sydney, New South Wales, 11-16 September
Connor
South Australian Boys team playing in the Australian Under 13 Hockey Championships held in Hobart, Tasmania, 28 September – 04 October.
“Connor was excited to be selected as part of the team, the only downside was this restricted his involvement in the Murray Bridge Pedal Prix event for the NIHS, Protege team (which he has absolutely loved being a part of this year). The hockey team travelled and stayed together in Tasmania for 9 nights and played 11 games. The boys started well with a win against the home side Tasmania and then drew to Northern Territory. Unfortunately, the boys lost the remaining games but they fought gallantly against fierce opposition. They will be much better in future hockey years for the experience. Connor was lucky enough to meet former Kookaburra player and captain Jamie Dwyer and do some sightseeing whilst he was there, by visiting Mt Wellington, The Hasting thermal springs, The Cascade Women's factory and The MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). It was a great experience and Connor has come home thirsty for more!!”
