Kodomo no Hi Children's Day
The Japanese Kodomo no Hi Children's Day celebration was held at lunchtime on Friday 3 June. The stage was created in the Central Plaza, and decorated with Japanese flags and Koinobori carp fish flags made by Year 7, 8 and 9 Japanese language students. The lunchtime began with a drumming performance by Matsuri Taiko Japanese Drumming Group, followed by the Okinawa Eisa dance performed by Tenn, a Japanese international student representing Tokyo Metropolitan Government. A wonderful way for students to experience Japanese traditional music and performance.

Culture and Art Workshop
Students of Chinese experienced a wonderful opportunity to participate in a culture and art workshop through the Confucius Institute, at the Adelaide University. They enjoyed a hands-on experience of Chinese traditional paper cutting skills of “Double Happiness” while developing their understanding of Chinese history and culture. Students then enjoyed a walking tour in China Town and Central market exploring more Chinese culture.
