Women in STEM Enrichment Seminar
Last month, 30 Year 9 girls went to Flinders University to take part in a three-day workshop aimed at increasing the interest of female students in studying STEM subjects. The seminar was a hit, with the students completing many different practical workshops, such as electroplating coins, investigating cybersecurity, playing around with physics concepts, investigating how AI is used in identification, and many others.
During the seminar, there were many presentations by different women working in STEM field, who discussed their research in topics such as investigating neutrinos, the ethics of technology, and how nanotechnology can be used in medical fields.
This seminar was a rousing success, and we hope to repeat it next year.
